1 One significant quote that caught my attention was when Ms. Taylor said “We’re entrepreneurs; we’re in a business for ourselves” . As an entrepreneur you’re your own boss. You are in business to make money and you’re going to try anything to make money in this world, and whatever it is that brings business you’re willing to do, to put food on the table. Ms. Taylor is right they are in business for themselves so whatever it takes to get money you do even if it is prostitution.
ReplyDelete1.Quote. “ If we want to attract business to Nevada that puts people back to work, The time has come to outlaw prostitution”. This means they will close all nigth clubs around the state. This is significant because all gogo dancers wiil lose their jobs and they don’t know other thing than just dance. They won’t have money for their children and I think the state doesn’t want this for their kids.
ReplyDelete1. Lance Gilman: " A company wants to know about power rates and housing and affordability prostitution is just not on their radar screen.” Which is true, prostitution is not one the top issues that should be focused on right now…this primarily focused on what people want rather what they need.
ReplyDelete1. The quote that was most significant to me was when Mr. Reid said “If we want to attract business to Nevada that puts people back to work, the time has come to outlaw prostitution.” I think he should focus more about getting people in his state job opportunities then such an unimportant issue. Right now people are not worry about prostitution they are more worry about the way the economy keeps going down. How people keep losing their jobs and unemployment isn’t cutting it anymore. He needs to focus on the big picture and not minor issues that later on could be fix or discuss about.
ReplyDeleteHello there
ReplyDelete“Here are been safe and professional and earning a living and he wants us to end it? Absolutely not, “Ms. Taylor said in an interview in her bedroom at the Bunny Ranch. “This is what I choose to do and there is nothing wrong with it.”
I believe Ms. Taylor is right there is nothing wrong with prostitution as long as is kept in a professional manner. It should be legalized as long as the prostitutes work in a secure place and are checked randomly for any health problems.
The quote “If we want to attract business to Nevada that puts people back to work, the time has come to outlaw prostitution” was the most significant quote to me throughout the text. The quote is referring to the state of Nevada attracting other people to come for business and not for prostitution. As Mr. Reid interpreted if we want to get business people to come over to Nevada we need to get rid of all the prostitution. They would need to outlaw, prohibit, all the brothels in order to keep Nevada from being known of the oldest profession.
ReplyDeleteMy only objections is what the politicians want to do with prostitution since it is not taxable and it gives them no profit, They want to close the bunny house so this women have no job and yes I am against it.
ReplyDelete1. We're entrepreneurs; we're in business for ourselves,"
ReplyDeleteEntreprenuer is someone who calls the shots he/she is the boss of their business in this business it is prostitution. The handle their business by accpecting their actions in what they capable of and in what tasks they will perform. They don't feel pressured in performing what they don't want or have to do. Their business is about making money fast to support their families or just to keep a roof over their own heads.

ReplyDelete“Here we are being safe and professional and earning a living, and he wants us to end it? Absloutely not, this is what I choose to do, and there is nothing wrong with it.”
ReplyDeleteThis quote was very significant to me because I couldn’t agree with Ms. Taylor more. I don’t think anyone has the right to tell people how to live their lives. If these women that work at brothels want to sell sex for money then more power to them. It angers me to think that the same politicians that are rallying together to have these brothels shut down have most likely been customers themselves. These brothels are well hiden and are practically impossible to find if one didn’t look for the clues such as neon flashings arrows. The seculdedness of these brothels is its very own way of having a “warning 18 and over only label,” as to not offend anyone by the sight of it. So, are these brothels really offending anyone?
1. “Money is not my worry anymore.” This quote means if you work hard you get what you want and money is not an issue for you anymore. This quote is significant because it shows that whatever job is good for you, but in my opinion not every job is good.
ReplyDelete2. I’m against prostitution and I think it shouldn’t be legal. Because prostitution is not what every girl would do and I think people should be aware that prostitution is kind off a bad idea, well in my opinion it is.
3. I wasn’t unfamiliar with any text from this journal.
4. What do you think should prostitution be legal
1.“We’re entrepreneurs; in a business for ourselves,” she added. This was said by Ms. Taylor on her opinion about ending prostitution. From the looks of it Ms. Taylor finds her job to be significantly a professional job and finds nothing wrong with it. While some may find prostitution revolting and degrading towards woman, she sees it as an easy and professional way to make a living. I find it absurd how some may actually call this a “professional job.” I see it as if in some states or countries this is considered to be illegal or just flat out extreme, there must be something misguided about it. But at the end of the day, we can’t change anyone’s proposals or actions upon it.
ReplyDeleteMy biases against the subject is how dirty politics can be. Politicians against prostitution and most of the time they are even clients of this prostitutes. I became awayre of it when Harry Reeds been so liberal in so many ways yet opposes agains prostitution, but never mentioned anything about the subject during his political campaingn. Prostitution does not give politicians what they want and is taxed money. If it affects their wallets or position they will always oppose, but very difficult for them to prevail.
ReplyDeleteMy question about the text is should prostitution be legalized.
ReplyDeleteProstitution is a matter of choice and yes it should be respected. As long as it's perfom in a healtly state and professional way, no reason why anyone should feel it's degrading. I personally have nothing against a person choosing to become a prostitute. It all depends how careful and how loyal that person is with what he or she does. Yes i did mentioned he because we also have male prostitutes and i strongly believe what is done withing limits and in a healtly environment there should be no regreats or doubts of doing something wrong. I respect a person's choice as long as it's perform with respect and no harm to others.
ReplyDelete1) Quote. “When a high roller wants a girl, a girl is supplied to them” to me this statements seen a little offensive. It sounds like pizza delivery or renting movies. Women are being used as merchandises to satisfy customers. When I read this quote I think of human trafficking and women being drugged or being forced to have sex with costumers.
ReplyDeleteIf a man can destroy his body in a boxing ring, I think a woman should have a choice of using her body for profit. People don't like prostitution based upon a moral position. But it is how a prostitute makes a living. Eventually if enough people don't pay her for her services then she will go out of business.
ReplyDeleteWhy is prostitution illegal when pornography is legal and the only difference is that a woman is having sex in front of a camera?
ReplyDelete2. The biases i had for the article while reading it was against it. i was against it for the reason that everyone should be entitle to do what they want to do. I was aware of it when Ms. Taylor said about Mr. Reid never having a problem with prostitution during his campaign. It made me realize that he wants prostitution not to be legalizing, when other people do want to.
ReplyDelete1. The quote that was the most significant to me was the quote Mr. Flint
ReplyDeletesaid when he said "The County could collect millions of dollars in
taxes." Because I thought how much money the other counties and even
the state of Nevada can collect such a great amount of money if prostitution
was legal.
2. I'm actually for the idea of prostitution because like stated in the
article Mr. Flint said, "The County could collect millions of dollars
in taxes." When he said this he was commenting about Las Vegas, how it
would collect so much money if it were legal there. But overall, I
believe since he said this then that would mean that maybe the places
that prostitution is legal is actually collecting such a great amount
of money. Even the state can collect taxes too which can be used to
create new jobs for other people which can later on attract business
to Nevada, and many people will be put back to work. So outlawing
prostitution won’t have to be a necessity when Mr. Reid said, “If we
want to attract business to Nevada that puts people back to work, the
time has come to outlaw prostitution.”
3. In the article "Nevada Politicians Debate an Older Profession" there wasn't any text I was unfamiliar with. As I was reading the article I was very familiar with brothels, Nevada being known for prostitution and the show "Cathouse". As a result there wasn't any text that I didn't understand.
ReplyDelete4. Why are politicians making it difficult to make prostitution legal?
ReplyDelete5. Eunisis Garcia - My question about the text is should prostitution be legalized?
ReplyDeleteI strongly believe prostitution should be legalize. In many people's eyes prostitution shouldn't exsist for the simple reason that its immoral. However to many woman or man who choose this as a living, consider it as a profession. Everyone is entitle to do whatever they want with their on bodies, and if people choose to do it for the reason they enjoy it then go right ahead. Also the legalizations of prostitution will benefit the government, for the reason that taxes will increase.
2. I'm for prostitution i believe that its a free country and if a women, or men chose to do this in order to earn a living we are no one to judge. Not saying the everyone is meant for that kind of job but who ever is up for that kind of job should be able to do it. By legalizing it will help them have a safer place to work at and be more healthier less risk of any kind of illness being obtain.
ReplyDelete3.I comprehend very well the text. I had knowledge of Nevada being a state that is for prostitution. I was familiar with the show as well.
4: Why should prostitution be illegal ?
